The wonders of the worldwide web

The wonders of the worldwide web

Social media is a wonderful thing. It connects you with friends and family near and far and opens your eyes to new ideas, insights and even the odd cute animal.

Jimi Hendrix was an inspirational man and musician and it is remarkable to see that he is still important to so many. As I begin my own research into his life I’m amazed at the variety of blogs, articles and images that can be found online today. For instance there plenty of Rock sites that talk about his music and skill as a guitarist but he is also mentioned in a religious and theologian blog The Hump of the Camel; is inspiration for a fashion label’s shoot as seen in Moon to Moon; and is used as an example for good marketing practises – tips I have noted!

On to the more fun stories, I found that some sites claimed that Bob Marley and Jimi once played football together. A convincing lookalike, but Feel Numb sets the record straight and confirms that it was taken backstage at a gig in 1979. And to a more recent, genuine story, Hendrix has been honoured on a US stamp.
